Now that’s a tongue twister. Don’t let the tongue twisting title of this organization fool you, it is no joke. They raised over a million dollars at their walk this past Saturday at Arizona State University, and had hundreds, if not thousands walking in the name of Brain Tumor Research.
According to their awesome website, www.SSBTR.org, “Within the next 12 months, over 200,000 people in the U.S.A. will be diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor.” and “Brain tumors are the leading cause of solid tumor cancer deaths in children through high-school age.” Luckily, Steve Glassman, an advisor at Pinnacle High School, had the heart to start this amazing charity and begin raising millions of dollars in the name of brain tumor research.
Naturally, upon planning this year’s walk the question posed by the group was, “How are we going to energize these thousands of people walking around campus on a early Saturday afternoon?” and we answered with an energetic “We can do it!”. Continue reading ‘Students Support Brain Tumor Research’
